Since there is always the possibility of bad weather rain, strong winds, heat wave etc and the gorge must and will be closed for safety reasons, the best thing to do is buy your tickets as you go.
You will always be able to issue your entry ticket when you arrive, there will always be the ferry to transfer you to Sougia or Chora Sfakion, and there will always be enough buses for the passengers of the ferry.
Samaria gorge opens at 7.00am every day from the 1st of May until the 31st of October.
The gorge closes at 1.00pm for the whole hike and at 3.00pm for a few kilometers.
You can enter from any entrance you want.
You can walk as far as you like. There is no restriction.
Yes there is an entry fee which you can pay with credit card also.
